What’s your favourite part of teaching so far?

When the children get a concept and you know you have taught them it.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

This is a brutal job but in 10 years from now when that child talks about the impact you have made in their lives, that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

Learning and Teaching in the Primary Classroom by Maurice Galton

Favourite tools, software, or equipment?

Dojos. All children love getting them.

My mum inspires me. She has been a primary teacher for many years. Hearing her at home talking about her day and the children, made me want to be a teacher.

When did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

When I was in secondary school and I had teachers of the complete opposite. Ones that supported me and ones that did not care about the children they were teaching at all.

How do you unwind outside of work hours? What helps you to switch off?

Gym, fun activities and going away on holiday.
